Lesotho National Anthem

Flag History

Adopted in 2006, the national flag was changed to commemorate the fortieth anniversary
of Lesotho’s independence. Blue symbolizes the importance of water and rain while green
stands for plenty. White represents peace with a black mokorotlo (Basotho hat) representing
the people of Lesotho.
