Flag History

The Mozambique flag was adopted in 1983 when the colors of green, black and yellow
were rearranged to form rays emanating from the upper hoist. The red is symbolic of
the struggle for independence, green the riches of the land, black the African continent,
yellow the minerals, and white fimbriations representing peace.
